​Who we are ...

​ABM Consulting Ltd was founded in 2012 by Andy Martin. Andy is passionate about the pharmaceutical industry, microbiology and training having spent over 40 years within and around the industry specializing in Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Quality Management.

ABM Consulting provides a range of services to our clients which include training, quality systems support for laboratories and QA, auditing both internally and for suppliers as well as consultancy around contamination control and monitoring and improvement.

As for our founder, Andy's expertise extends into aseptically filled and terminally sterilized products and devices ranging from single and multidose eye preparations and contact lens solutions, diagnostic and impregnated paper strip devices and sterile creams. He is also experienced in a variety of non-sterile products such as tablets, and oral liquids. 

His experience also includes steam, irradiation, ethylene oxide, and filtration sterilization processes.

As a microbiologist and a quality system professional, he has worked in analytical and managerial role. He has lead microbiology teams for a number years, having responsibilities for environmental monitoring, laboratory analyses, sterilization validation, including gamma irradiation to ISO11137 standards. He has also acted as an interim Quality Manager for a contract lab working to GMP and ISO 17025. He has been responsible for various operational excellence projects, including implementing a 5S process in laboratories, completing a lab expansion project, as well as range of cost reduction projects. He is trained as a Kaizen leader.

He is a Chartered Biologist with the Royal Society of Biology and a member of organizations such as Pharmig, PHSS, PDA, and ISPE.
